Malta 2 Euro 2016 Love Coincard + Mintmark

This is the first coin of a series of 5 coins with the theme of Children in Solidarity. The coin for 2016 has the theme of Solidarity through Love. Normally shortened to just Love. In Malta, a competition was announced in early 2016, where all children of secondary education age could participate in designing the coin. The winning design was from Sarah Cilia, her drawing showing two hands together forming a heart. The heart shape contains the flag of Malta. In addition, in the form of a bracelet around the two hands, the logo of the Maltese Community Chest Fund is seen. One of the hands symbolizes all generations of Malta. The coin looks simple but has a deep meaning. At the bottom of the coin the country name of Malta as well as the year 2016 is shown. The coin in this Coincard is special in that it has the French mint mark û the so-called Cornucopia or Horn of Plenty. This mint mark is displayed on the left side of Malta. It is a particularly colourful Coincard in the form of a bookmark. This coincard is si milar to the Irish Coincard published earlier this year and also has the form of a bookmark.
