Malta 2 Euro 2018 Cultural Heritage with Mintmark

Malta is issuing a series of five coins that have the subject "By Children in Solidarity". The theme of this third coin from the series is the Maltese Cultural Heritage. The basis of this series of five coins is a children's drawing. Nicole Dimech made the winning drawing that this 2018 Maltese special 2 Euro coin is based on. The winning drawing used for the coin shows a number of typical features of the Maltese Cultural Heritage. Centrally a Megalithic temple doorway is depicted. There is also a dome and a bell tower of a church, which are often the profile of Maltese cities and villages. The sun is shown shining on the churches. Furthermore, on the sea is a typical Maltese boat on which the Maltese national flag flies proudly. At the top of the coin is the country name Malta whilst at the bottom is the year 2018. The difference with the coin without a mint mark and the coin with the mint mark can be seen immediately. The mint sign, the Cornucopia (Horn of Plenty) is shown to the left of the year. Only 20,000 coins have been minted! This means that worldwide only 20,000 collectors get the chance to complete their collection with the purchase of this coin which is relatively cheaply priced. The coin is packaged in a printed Leuchtturm coin holder.
