Malta BU set 2022. Malta is issuing a series of seven BU sets on the subject of Maltese Prehistoric Monuments. This is the last BU set of this series! The subject of the 2022 Maltese BU set is the 'Hal Saflieni Hypogeum'. The Hal Saflieni Hypogeum is an underground complex that was both a cemetery and a temple. Hypogeum is Greek for 'Under the Earth'. The complex was built over 6000 years ago and is more than 500 square metres in size! The complex, which was accidentally discovered in 1902, has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1989. The complete series of 2022 Euro coins from Malta are packaged in this beautifully illustrated 2022 Maltese BU set. As an extra coin, the 2022 special 2 Euro coin 'Hal Saflieni Hypogeum' is included in this set. The edition of this set is only 10,000 copies!
