Portugal 2 Euro 2020 '730 Years University of Coimbra'

Portugal issued a 2 Euro coin in September 2020 with the theme '730 Years University of Coimbra'. This 2020 Portuguese 2 Euro coin harks back to the oldest university in Portugal which is also one of the oldest universities in the world! The university was opened on 1st March, 1290, founded by King Dionysius. Today, the university has eight faculties and more than 21,000 students. The university is known for its Science & Technology faculty, where many developments and studies are carried out. It is a public university that has students from all over the world.
