Portugal has issued a 5 Euro coin dedicated to the Portuguese language. Portuguese Language Day has been declared by UNESCO and is celebrated in Portugal on 5th May. The Portuguese language is spoken by more than 256 million people in the Southern Hemisphere. On the face of the coin a pencil writing in Portuguese is depicted. Above is the logo of UNESCO. On the reverse of the coin is the coat of arms of Portugal with the value of 5 Euro below. Below and to the left is the country name 'Portugal' with the year of issue, 2020.
