San Marino 1 Euro 2019

This is the 1 Euro from San Marino 2019. On this coin the second Tower of San Marino is depicted. The Second Tower of San Marino, called Cesta or Fratta, was built around 1200/1250 on the remains of an ancient Roman Fort. This fort stood on the highest point of San Marino, the Monte Titano at ca. 750 metres above sea level. The Adriatic Sea can be clearly seen from the Second Tower. The tower was restored to its original construction in 1925. At the moment the museum of St. Marino and the Museum of Historical Weapons are housed in the tower. The coin shows an image of the Second Tower of San Marino de Cesta. At the top left of the coin the country name San Marino appears, and at the top right of the coin is the year 2019. The outer ring of the coin shows the 12 stars of Europe. This coin is of course legal tender.
