San Marino 2 Euro 2018 Bernini Coloured

Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680) was an Italian sculptor / architect. He had the ability to combine Sculpture and Architecture perfectly. With his talent he was able to realize beautiful works in the form of the Roman Baroque. Well-known works by him are the bust of Constanza Bonarelli, the Cornaro chapel and Peter's canopy in St. Peter's. The most famous work designed by Bernini is Saint Peter's Square. In the year 2018 it is 420 years since Bernini was born and in memory of this San Marino has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of this beautiful coloured 2 Euro coin is an image of the bust of Constanza Bonarelli which was made in 1640. She was the wife of one of Bernini's pupils and Bernini was madly in love with her! On the left side of the coin the country name San Marino is coloured white. Next to this are the white-coloured dates 1598 and 2018. On the right side of the coin the name Bernini is shown. The coin is packaged in a plastic coin capsule.
