San Marino 2 Euro 2021 'Albrecht Durer' UNC

In 2021 San Marino has issued a 2 Euro coin, in the quality UNC, with the theme 'Albrecht Durer'. This German painter (1471 - 1528) was born in Nuremberg. Albrecht Durer was a versatile artist who, in addition to painting and drawing, also loved woodcuts and copper engravings. Albrecht Durer travelled extensively in Europe and always managed to process these unique moments in detail, either on canvas or in one of his other specialties, woodcut. By applying small lines, he managed to create shadows like no one else could. Albrecht Durer was born 550 years ago which is why San Marino has issued a special 2 Euro coin as a tribute. On the face of the coin is an image of his painting 'Madonna and Child'. This painting hangs in the Palazzo Degli Uffizi in Florence, one of the oldest art museums in the world. His surname, Durer, is shown on the right of the coin with his initials, AD, above. The country name San Marino is also displayed along with the years 1471 - 2021. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
