San Marino BU 2020

This is the BU set of San Marino 2020. Since 2017 the 20 Cent of San Marino shows the three Towers of San Marino which are called Guaita, Cesta and Montale. These three ancient fortifications are located on top of Mount Titano and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. The first tower, Guiata, is an octagonal tower dating from the 11th century. The second tower, Cesta, stands on the highest peak of Mount Titano, at an altitude of 756 metres, and was built in the 13th century on the remains of a Roman fortress. The third tower, Montale, is pentagonal and dates also from the 13th century. These three Towers are the subject of this 2020 San Marino BU set. The 1 cent coin shows the coat of arms of San Marino. The 2 cent coin shows the City Gate and the 5 cent coin shows the Capuchin Church San Quirino. The 10 cent coin shows the facade of the Church of Saint Francis and the 20 cent coin shows the three famous towers of San Marino. The 50 cent coin shows Saint Marino in accordance with a detail of the painting by the painter Retrosi. On the 1 Euro coin the second tower, the middle of three famous towers, is depicted. The 2 Euro coin once again shows an image of Saint Marino, as a detail of a painting by the painter Urbinelli. The coins are presented in a deluxe package on which the three towers are displayed.
