San Marino BU 2021. This is the 2021 San Marino BU set. The set refers to the oldest church of San Marino called the 'Chiesa di San Francesco'. The Chiesa di San Francesco was built in the year 1361 and has been renovated many times over the years. The Chiesa di San Francesco was built using local stones, carved by hand from the mountains of San Marino. The Chiesa di San Francesco has been depicted on the 10 Cent coins of San Marino since the year 2017. The facade is characterized by three arches and a grid window built with handmade bricks. The coat of arms of San Marino is shown on the 1 cent coin. The City Gate is depicted on the 2 cent coin and the Capuchin Church of San Quirino is displayed on the 5 cent coin. The facade of the Chiesa di San Francesco is depicted on the 10 cent coin and the three famous towers of San Marino are depicted on the 20 cent coin. On the 50 cent coin, Saint Marinus is portrayed in accordance with a detail of the painting by the painter Retrosi.
