Slovenia 2 Euro 2022 'Joze Plecnik'

2022 Slovenia 2 Euro coin 'Joze Plecnik'. Joze Plecnik was a Slovenian architect who designed buildings in several European cities. Most of his designs were built in Ljubljana, Vienna and Prague. He was born in Ljubljana in 1872 and studied from 1894 to 1897 with the very famous architect 'Otto Wagner'. From the year 1901 Joze Plecnik started designing buildings but it was not until 1908 that he developed his own style. He designed dozens of buildings, but not every building was actually built! His competitor 'Vinko Glanz' designed the 'Drzavni Zbor' (National Assembly) but Joze Plecnik's design for the Drzavni Zbor has been on the 10 Cent coin of Slovenia since 2007! To commemorate the 150th anniversary of his birth, Slovenia has decided to issue a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the 2022 Slovenian 2 Euro coin a detail of his design is shown along with his name 'Joze Plecnik'. His year of birth, 1872, and the year of issue, 2022, are also shown together with the country name 'Slovenija'. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
