Slovenia 3 Euro 2019 Prekmurje

Prekmurje is one of the five historic regions of Slovenia. Prekmurje was owned by the Hungarians for over 800 years, but since 1919 has been a region of Slovenia again. Prekmurje is known for the many storks that breed here. It is one of the largest breeding grounds for storks in the world. It is 100 years since Prekmurje was reunited with Slovenia, which is why it was decided to issue a 3 Euro coin to commemorate this. On the face of the coin is a quote from the writer Jozef Klek which refers to the return of Prekmurje to Slovenia "Deca ste lüblene slovenske matere" (You are children of the beloved Slovenian mother). Beneath which is the text 'prikljucitev prekmurja k maticni domovini 1919' (Prekmurje connection to the home country - 1919). The reverse side of the coin shows the value of 3 Euro. The country name Slovenija (Slovenia) and the year of issue, 2019, are also displayed. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
