Spain 10 Euro 2021 Burgos Cathedral

Spain has issued a 10 Euro coin with the theme of the 'Cathedral of Burgos'. Exactly 800 years ago, in the year 1221, Ferdinand III of Castile ordered the construction of this Cathedral. This original (small) church was in use from the year 1230. From 1231 it was decided to expand the Cathedral, this expansion lasted no less than 332 years! It is striking that this Cathedral has two symmetrical towers. On the face of the coin the Cathedral of Burgos is depicted, together with a detail of the stained glass window of the 'Portada del Sarmental'. Furthermore, the value indication of 10 Euro and the years 1221 - 2021 are shown. The reverse of the coin shows an image of King Felipe VI and the year of issue 2021 is displayed. The coin is presented in a beautiful case and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
