Spain 10 Euro 2022 '1st Sailing Circumnavigation of the World'. The Spanish mint celebrates the first sailing trip around the world by issuing no less than four different 10 Euro coins, one each year. This is the fourth and final coin in the series! 239 men left Seville, led by Juan Sebastián Elcano, in 1519 to sail around the world! The fleet consisted of 5 huge sailing ships. Only 18 of the 239 men survived the gruelling voyage. Only Elcano's ship, the Victoria, managed to complete the journey. This voyage is still known today as one of the bravest sailing voyages in the history of Spain. The face of the coin shows the Nao Victoria arriving in the port of Spain. Furthermore, the value indication of 10 Euro is displayed. On the reverse of the coin is an image of Juan Sebastián Elcano. Additionally, the country name, ESPANA, and the year of issue, 2022, are shown. The coin is presented in a beautiful case.
