Spain 2 Euro 2023 'Presidency of the Council of the EU'

Spain has issued this 2023 special 2 Euro coin 'Presidency of the Council of the European Union'. This special coin reflects the four priorities that Spain holds dear during its presidency i.e. green transition, social and economic justice, strengthening European unity and re-industrialisation. A country remains council president for 6 months, after which the next country takes over. As a result, every member state becomes President of the Council of the European Union once every 13.5 years. On the face of the coin is the number 23, which indicates the year 2023. Above it is the U (Union) and the Spanish flag is depicted on the right. Furthermore, the country name ESPANA (Spain) is shown along with the year of issue, 2023. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
