Vatican 5 Euro 2019 World Youth Days

The World Youth Days (WYD) are international meetings organized by the Roman Catholic Church. These meetings take place once every three years. It is almost unbelievable how many young people from all over the world attend these gatherings! Depending on the place and location, they are attended by hundreds of thousands to more than five million young Catholics. This is immense and the striking thing is that it always runs without violence. It is a day when God is honoured and faith is considered. The World Youth Days were organized for the first time in 1984, the 2019 World Youth Day took place in Panama City. On the face of the coin a young man and a young woman are depicted listening to Pope Francis. A cross with the rays of the sun radiating from it is also shown. Around the coin is the text 'Citta del Vaticano' together with the value indication of 5 Euro. God provides many points of light at the World Youth Days. The reverse of the coin shows the Vatican coat of arms and the text 'MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO' (chosen by grace). Furthermore, the shelter of the Apostolic Palace is seen under the papal crest.
