Product Description
Vatican 5 Euro 2022 'Pope Benedict XV'. Giacomo Giambattista Marquis Della Chiesa was born in Rome on 21st November 1854 and was Pope from 1914 until his death in 1922. He was especially committed to peace during the First World War, which later earned him the nickname 'Peace Pope'. He mainly improved diplomatic ties with France and was seen as a real mediator. On the face of the coin is an image of Pope Benedict XV and the country name CITTA DEL VATICANO (Vatican). The reverse of the coin features the Papal Coat of Arms in the centre, the Pope's motto 'Miserande Atque Elegendo' (Chosen by Grace) is also shown. The coin is presented in a numbered cassette and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
