Vatican Coincard 50 Cent 2021 Nr. 12. Since the year 2010 the Vatican has issued a Coincard containing a Vatican 50 Cent coin. The Coincard of the year 2021 is number 12 of this series. Pope Francis has decided, in all his simplicity, that his image need no longer be visible on the coins of the Vatican. Instead, as of 2017, the Papal coat of arms is depicted on Vatican coins. The papal coat of arms is based on a crest that he has been using since 1991 when he took office as Bishop of Argentina. At the top of the coat of arms is a mitre with the 2 keys of Peter. Centrally, in the crest, are the letters IHS with a cross above. Below it are three black nails. The star refers to Mary and the grass refers to Joseph. At the bottom of the coin is the Pope's motto, which is 'miserando atque eligendo' (chosen by grace). The coin is mounted in a coincard with Pope Francis pictured on the front. The name of this official coincard No. 12 of the year 2021 is also shown. On the back of the coincard is, among other things, the technical data of the coin and the coincard.
