Vatican Proof Set 2022 + 20 Euro Silver

This is the 2022 Vatican Proof Set - included in the set is a Silver 20 Euro coin thus nine coins are packed in this set. These are the complete series of 2022 Vatican Euro coins and as an extra the 2022 Silver 20 Euro coin. Since the introduction of the Euro in 2002, the Pope has been depicted on Vatican Euro coins. The current Pope, Francis I, has decided in his simplicity that his image no longer needs to be on the Vatican coins. Since 2017 his image has been replaced by the Papal Coat of Arms. The Papal Coat of Arms is a crest that he has used since 1991 when he took office as Bishop of Argentina. At the top of the coat of arms is a mitre with the two keys of Peter. Centred on the crest are the letters IHS of Christ surmounted by a cross. Furthermore, three black nails are also shown. The star refers to Mary and the grass refers to Joseph. At the bottom of the coat of arms is the Pope's motto which is 'miserando atque eligendo' (chosen by grace). This image can be seen on all of the Vatican coins i.e. from the 1 cent coin up to and including the 2 Euro coin. Furthermore, the text 'Citta del Vaticano' is shown on these coins. The Silver 20 Euro coin shows two doctors administering a Corona vaccination.
