Vatican UNC 2019

This is the complete 2019 UNC set from the Vatican. The Vatican has been issuing Euro coins since the introduction of the Euro in 2002. Normally the Pope is portrayed on the coins of the Vatican. The present Pope, Francis I, has decided, in his simplicity, that his image does not need to appear on the Vatican coins. As of the year 2017 his image has been replaced by the Papal Coat of Arms. The Papal crest is a Coat of Arms that Pope Francis I has been using since 1991, when he became Bishop of Argentina. At the top of the coat of arms is a mitre together with St. Peter's two keys. In the centre of the crest are the letters IHS, of Christ, with a cross above them. Furthermore, three black nails are depicted. The star refers to Mary and the grass refers to Joseph. At the bottom of the crest is the Pope's motto which is 'miserando atque eligendo' (called from / by mercy). The 2019 Vatican UNC set consists of the entire series of Euro coins from the Vatican, being the 1 cent 2019 up to and including the Normal 2 Euro 2019. The Papal Coat of Arms is shown in the centre of the coins, encircled by the country name 'Citta del Vaticano' . The year 2019 appears on the bottom right of the coin.
