Vatican UNC 2020

This is the complete 2020 UNC set from the Vatican. The Vatican has been issuing Euro coins since the introduction of the Euro in 2002. The Pope's image is normally depicted on the coins of the Vatican. The current Pope, Francis I, has decided in his humility that his image no longer has to be on the coins of the Vatican. As of 2017, his image has been replaced by the Papal Coat of Arms. This crest is the Coat of Arms that Francis has used since 1991 when he took office as Bishop of Argentina. At the top of the coat of arms is a mitre together with the two keys of Peter. In the centre of the crest are the letters 'IHS' of Christ with a cross above them. Furthermore, three black nails are also shown. The star refers to Mary and the grass refers to Joseph. At the bottom of the coat of arms is the Pope's motto which is 'miserando atque eligendo' (chosen by grace / mercy). The 2020 UNC set of the Vatican consists of the entire series of 2020 Euro coins from the Vatican, i.e. the 1 cent up to and including the normal 2 Euro. The Papal Coat of Arms is depicted centrally on the coins encircled by the country name 'Citta del Vaticano' (Valtican City). The year 2020 is shown on the bottom right of the coin.
