Cyprus BU 2019

This is the first set of a three-part series of BU sets from Cyprus that all look back on the face of the Cyprus coins. The BU set of Cyprus 2019 refers to the Cypriot 1 Euro and the 2 Euro coins. On these coins a cruciform female sculpture, dating from the Chalcolithic period, is depicted. This period is in the transition phase between the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. These cruciform female sculptures have a height of 5 to 15 cm and were found in Pomos, a village located in Paphos. These sculptures were used during religious ceremonies or as a pendant. In the beginning these cross-shaped women's sculptures were made of stone, later they were made of clay. The cruciform female sculptures represent the Greek goddess Aphrodite (Venus), the goddess of love. The complete set of 2019 Cypriot Euro coins is included in this BU set. The 2 Euro coin that is included in this set is the normal 2 Euro of Cyprus 2019. Cyprus will not issue a special 2 Euro coin in 2019. The edition of this beautiful set is only 5,000 copies.
