This third coin of the Finnish Presidents Set is the third president of Finland æPehr Evind SvinhufvudÆ (1861-1944). Svinhufvud came from a noble, originally Swedish family. He was a judge in Helsinki and in the turbulent time of the Russian Revolution he was banned from Russia. After having held various political positions, he became president of Finland in 1931. He was president until the year 1937. A turbulent time, with a struggle between fascists and communists, where Svinhufvud did not easily come to terms with. On the coin is an image of Svinhufvud. In the outer ring of the coin are the text Pehr Evind Svinhufvud and the years 1861 - 1944. The reverse of the coins in this series is the same, being a cityscape as seen from an open book.
