Finland BU 2018 Part 2 Finnish Monetary History

Finland issues a BU set part 1 and part 2 each year. The Finnish BU sets part 2 have a different theme every year. The theme of the Finnish BU set 2018 part 2 is the Finnish Monetary History. The first Finnish coins come from Byzantine times, but are no longer legal tender. Such a coin is shown on the front of the BU set. Finland has had the Markka (Finnish Mark) as its currency for centuries until the introduction of the Euro. However, the first Finnish coin was a 6 Pfennig coin minted in 1409/1410 in Turkku. The first Finnish marks were minted in 1556 up to and including 2002 when the Euro was introduced in Finland as a means of payment. In the 2018 Finnish part 2 BU set nine different coins are packed, the 2018 Finnish 1 cent up to the 1 Euro 2018. Furthermore the two special 2018 Finnish 2 Euro coins the æFinnish SaunaÆ and the æKoli ParkÆ are included in this set.
