France 2 Euro 2019 Fall of the Berlin Wall Proof

The most famous border that Europe has ever known must be The Berlin Wall. The Berlin Wall was more than 45 kilometres long and separated West and East Berlin. At the end of the Second World War Berlin was divided into four occupation zones. Russia was given control of one of these zones. The other zones were allocated to France, Great Britain and the United States. West Berlin wanted to introduce a new currency, the Deutsche Mark. The currency was introduced to prevent a new wave of inflation and to stop the black trade. Russia absolutely did not agree with this and saw it as a threat. The wall was built to protect the border and the new currency. To commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany and France have decided to jointly issue a 2 Euro coin. On the face of this coin the first part of the demolished wall, with doves of peace flying into the free world, is symbolically depicted. At the top of the coin a person is shown standing in front of the Bundesrat, filled with joy, with hands in the air. On the left of the coin are the texts '30 ans de la Chute du Murö - '30 Jahre Mauerfall' (30 Years Fall of the Berlin Wall). At the bottom of the coin is the year 2019 with the mint marks of France to the right together with the letters RF, (Republic of France). The quality of the coin is Proof which is a coin of the highest possible quality. The coin is presented in luxury packaging, into which the coin is packed with the greatest care. The coin is supplied with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
