Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous people of antiquity who was known as a true genius. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), who died 500 years ago, was a painter, writer, physicist, chemist, engineer, philosopher, inventor, architect and so on! Leonardo da Vinci painted a lot but did not finish many of his works. Of the paintings that he did finish the best-known are 'The Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper'. A less well-known work that he painted in 1489-1490 is 'The Lady with the Ermine'. In this painting a woman is shown holding an ermine. An ermine is from the family of the marten-like predators that are found all over the world. Ermine look like weasels and polecats. This Leonardo da Vinci work is in the National Museum of Krakow. The 2019 Italian €2 coin 'Leonardo da Vinci' shows a detail of the painting. Both the normal 2019 €1 Euro the special 2019 €2 Euro 'Leonardo da Vinci' are mounted in this coincard of Italy.
