Italy 2 Euro 2021 Rome

Italy has issued a 2 Euro coin with the theme the capital of Italy - 'Rome'. Rome has almost 3 million inhabitants and the metropolitan region has 4.5 million inhabitants. This makes Rome the largest city in Italy. Two rivers flow through the city, namely the Aniene and the Tiber. The history of Rome is great as the city was founded in the year 753 BC (now known as BCE), making Rome already 2774 years old! The city flourished during the Roman Empire and many buildings from this period, including the Colosseum, can still be admired and indicate the strength and wisdom of this city. The face of the coin features a detail of 'Dea Roma', a sculpture produced by Angelo Zanelli, in the Vittoriano in Rome. Furthermore, the text 'ROMA CAPITALE 1871 - 2021' is shown. Additionally, the following is shown - 'RI' (Republic of Italy) and the letter 'R' representing the mint of Rome. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
