Product Description

Italy has issued a series of 5 Euro coins with the theme 'Italian food and wine'. The second coin in this series is dedicated to 'Lambrusco and Tortellini'. Tortellini, is a pasta shaped into rings. These ring-shapes can be empty but are often filled with cheese or minced meat. A Bolognese sauce is often poured over these tortellini. Lambrusco is an Italian wine made from the blue Lambrusco grape which is mainly grown in the Lombardy region. In addition to red wine, a white wine or a rosé wine can also be produced from these grapes. The well-known bubbles in this wine arise because the second fermentation takes place in a closed tank. On the face of the coin is the characteristic tortellini behind which are a rolling pin, a typical cheese knife, an egg and a glass of Lambrusco, all of which is presented on a ceramic Faenza plate. Furthermore, the text 'SAPORI D'ITALIA' (Taste of Italy), the value indication of 5 Euro and the year of issue, 2021, are all shown. The reverse of the coin shows a bottle of Lambrus co and the two well-known leaning towers of Bologna, called Garisenda and Asinelli. Additionally, the rooster of Romagna, with a rose window above it, is also depicted. The country name REPUBBLICA ITALIANA (Italy) is also displayed. The coin is mounted in a beautiful Coincard which is itself packed in a beautiful blister!
