Italy 5 Euro 2022 'Canova'. Italy has issued a special 5 Euro coin with the theme 'Antonio Canova'. This Italian sculptor was born in Possagno on 1st November 1, 1757. Antonio Canova came from an artistic family and started his career as a painter. However, from the age of 18 he switched to sculpture. His works were seen as neoclassical, a style that refers to ancient Greek and Roman architecture. His sculptures are worked out to the greatest detail! On the face of the coin is a detail of the bust of Antonio Canova with the coat of arms of Ischia (an island in the Gulf of Naples) next to it. The country name Repubblica Italiana (Italy) is also shown. On the reverse is a detail of the marble statue of Venus.
