2020 Latvia 2 Euro coin 'Ceramics from Latgale'. Latvia's 2 Euro coin of 2020 has the theme of Latgale's Ceramics. Ceramics, also known as pottery, is one of Latvia's older art forms. Latgale's Ceramics are known for their simple colour gradients, where the brownish colours can fade to a blue-purple glow. To this day, Latgale's Ceramics are made in an authentic way with a number of products having a nostalgic background. Pots (medaunics) are made especially for honey storage, different pots (kazelnieks) are made to store goat's milk and mugs (kruze) are made from which one can drink a delicious Aldaris (Latvia's favourite beer). On the face of the coin is a traditional Latvian candlestick, below which is the text 'LATGALES KERAMIKA' (Ceramics of Latgale). At the top of the coin, the country name LATVIJA (Latvia) is displayed with the year of issue, 2020, next to it. The coin is packed in a printed coin holder.
