Latvia 5 Euro 2020 Modernism in Latvia - The Sixties

Latvia has issued a beautiful 5 Euro coin with the theme 'Modernism in Latvia - The Sixties'. The 1960's was the time of the Beatles, the hippies and the time when manned space exploration was born! Art created in the 1960's was mostly practiced by free-thinking artists who interpreted design in a completely new way. Although the 1960's started only 60 years ago, it nevertheless produced art, architecture and musical heritage, something that will still be recognized years later. The coin contains elements from as many as four Latvian artists and designers. The face of the coin features several circles and an abstract horse. The country name Latvija (Latvia) and the year of issue, 2020, are also displayed. On the reverse of the coin is an abstract rose with the value of 5 Euro on the right. The coin is presented in a beautiful cassette and the circulation is only 3,000 copies.
