Luxembourg 2 Euro 2019 Charlotte Coincard

In the year 2019 it is 100 years ago that Grand Duchess Charlotte ascended the throne of Luxembourg. After the legal successor Adolphe became the successor of King William III in 1890 and was succeeded by Willem IV in 1905, a change in the law made it possible for a woman to succeed to the throne. William IV was succeeded by Grand Duchess Adelaida who was weak in health and in 1919 was urgently advised to give up the throne. She was succeeded by her sister Charlotte who was Grand Duchess for 45 years from 1919 to 1964! To commemorate the 100th anniversary of Grand Duchess Charlotte, Luxembourg has issued a special 2 Euro coin. On the right side of the coin is an image of Grand Duchess Charlotte. On the left side of the coin is an image of her grandson Henri, the current Grand Duke of Luxembourg. In an arc around these portraits is the French text "Centenaire de l'accécion au trône de la Grande-Duchesse Charlotte" (100 years of the enthronement of the Grand Duchess Charlotte). The country name Luxembourg is shown in French because the other text is in French. Under the country name is the year 2019, with the mint sign the Luxembourg Lion on the left and the Mercury staff on the right next to the year. It can be seen from this that this coin was minted in the Netherlands. Also shown is the year 2019. To the left of the year is the Servaasbrug which is the mint mark of the Dutch Mint Master Mr. Satijn. To the right of the year is the Dutch Mercury Staff, which indicates that the coin is minted in the Netherlands. Only 7,500 coins have been minted with the Muntteken Servaasbrug! The coin is mounted in a luxurious Coincard.
