The construction of the Ggantija Temples started more than 5,600 years ago. The word Ggantija comes from Giant. The story was that the temple was built in one day by a giant woman. She had to lift and carry 5-metre long stones weighing more than 5 tons! On the coin is an image of the æGgantija TemplesÆ. These are naturally coloured. At the top of the coin, the text Ggantija Temples and the years 3600 - 3200 BC are coloured white. At the bottom of the coin is the country name Malta and the year 2016 coloured red. The coin was struck in France.
