Netherlands Coincard 2019 Golden Age

This is the coincard with the theme The Golden Age. The Euro currency has three coins that are made in so-called Nordic Gold. These are the 10, 20 and 50 cent coins. With this coincard we look back at The Golden Age that began in the year 1602, when the VOC (Dutch East India Company) was founded, and ended in 1702. This was the heyday of the Netherlands when that small country was put on the world map! The Netherlands became an important player at this time through trade, science and art. The maritime trade, especially, produced enormous prosperity. On the coincard the ships in which this trade was carried out are depicted. On the back is an old world map that the sailors used to defy the sea. The 20 and 50 cent coins of 2019 will not be put into circulation! The quality of the coins are BU (Brilliant Uncirculated).
