Portugal 5 Euro 2018 Four-Leave Clover

This Portuguese 5 Euro coin is the next coin from the series of special Portuguese coins that highlight threatened plant varieties. The subject of this coin is the Four Leaf Clover (Marsilea Quadrifolia). This plant species occurs mainly in southern Europe and only grows in swampy river areas. The Four Leaf Clover has a stem of about 15 cm and the four leaves are each about 2 cm. Due to the changing climate the Four Leaf Clover is increasingly threatened. On the face of the coin are a number of four leaf clovers with stems. On the left side of the coin is the text "Trevo de 4 Folhas" (Four Leaf Clover). On the back of the coin a number of plants are depicted with their roots in the ground. On the left side of the coin is the country name Portugal, next to which is the year 2018. On the right side of the coin is the value indication of 5 Euro below which is the coat of arms of Portugal.
