San Marino 1 Euro 2020

This is the 2020 San Marino 1 Euro coin. On this coin the second Tower of San Marino is depicted. The Second Tower of San Marino, called Cesta or Fratta, was built around 1200/1250 on the remains of an ancient Roman Fort. This Fort was at the highest point of San Marino, Monte Titano, at about 750 metres above sea level. The Adriatic Sea is clearly visible from the Second Tower. In the year 1925 the tower was restored to its original construction. Currently, the Museum of Saint Marino and the Museum of Historical Weapons are housed in the tower. At the top left of the coin the country name San Marino is shown whilst at the top right of the coin is the year 2020. In the outer ring of the coin are the 12 stars of Europe. This coin is, of course, legal tender.
