Product Description

2023 San Marino 2 Euro coin 'Pietro Perugino'. Pietro Vannucci, better known as Pietro Perugino, was an Italian painter born in 1446 near Perugia. He learned the art of painting in Florence, where he studied in the studio of Andrea del Verrocchio. He collaborated with Leonardo da Vinci and got a lot of inspiration from the Italian painter 'Piero della Francesca'. In 1482 he left for Rome, where he helped to create the Frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. On the face of the coin is an image of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus in her arm, a painting that is in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. His name Perugino is shown, together with the years 1523 and 2023 and the country name San Marino. The coin is presented in an attractive blister, of which the mintage is only 56.000 copies.
