San Marino 5 Euro 2016 Jubilee of Mercy

In connection with the end of the æYear of MercyÆ on December 8, 2016, San Marino has issued a special 5 euro coin. This is a unique coin as it's the first time that San Marino has issued a bimetallic coin (Bronze with cupro-nickel). On the face of the coin are the typical elements of San Marino, the three towers with the feathers, the light rays and the word Libertas. In addition, the 12 stars of Europe and the name of San Marino are displayed. On the reverse of the coin, is an image of a mother protecting her child with her right hand after being rescued from the sea as a refugee. In the centre of the coin, a number of war refugees are depicted along with the open Holy Door. At the top of the coin the dove of peace with an olive branch is displayed. The value of 5 Euro is also printed. The coin is packed in a beautiful Coincard with the dove of peace with an olive branch on the front. Furthermore, on the left of the Coincard, the year 2016 is seen in Roman Numerals (MMXVI). On the back of the coincard to th e right the year 2016 is artistically printed along with the name and value of this special coin.
