Slovakia 10 Euro 2018 Dusan Jurkovic

Slovakia has issued a special 10 Euro coin in connection with the fact that the famous Slovak architect æDusan Samuel JurkovicÆ was born 150 years ago. Dusan Jarkovic (1868-1947) was a leading Slovak architect who completed his studies in Vienna. He was known for his special style. This was a combination of Jugendstill (the German for Art Nouveau) mixed with an old Slovak folk architecture. His works became part of the multifaceted evolution of modern Slovak architecture. He also designed numerous industrial buildings. On the face of the coin is an image of Milan Stefanik's tomb monument which was designed by Jurkovic. The final station on the top of the Lomnicky in the High Tatras is also depicted. This peak is covered in snow almost all year round. Furthermore, on the face of the coin the value indication of 10 Euro, the year 2018 and the country name Slovensko (Slovakia) are shown. The Coat of Arms of Slovakia is also shown. On the reverse of the coin Dusan Jurkovic is portrayed together with his printed name and the years 1868 and 1947.
