Slovakia 20 Euro 2021 'Demanovska - Caves of Freedom'

The 'Freedom Caves of Demanovska' are located in the Demanovska Valley, in the north of the Low Tatras mountain range. The caves were discovered in the year 1921 and they have been open to the public since 1925. The entrance to the caves is at an altitude of 871 metres. As well as stalagmites there are also many stalactites. It is a colourful cave through which water still flows! The cave is over 8 kilometres long, 2.2 kilometres of which are accessible to visitors. The face of the coin shows a person climbing the cave. Stalagmites and stalactites are also depicted along with the years 1921 and 2021. The reverse of the coin also shows a number of stalagmites and a number of insects that occur here.
