Alessandro Manzoni was an Italian novelist, born in 1785 in Milan. At the age of 20 he left for Paris where his passion for novels increased. His novel 'I Promessi Sposi' (The Betrothed) is regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of world literature. On the face of the coin is an image of Alessandro Manzoni. His name is displayed along with the year of his death (1873) and the year of issue (2023). The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
