2023 Italy 2 Euro coin '100 years of the Air Force'. The Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) was founded on 28th March, 1923 and celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The Italian Air Force consists of 75 Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightnings II, 82 Eurofighter Typhoons, 75 Panavia Tornadoes and 52 International AMXs. It is regarded as one of the strongest air force units in Europe. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of this part of the Italian army it has been decided to issue a special 2 Euro coin. On the face of the coin the coat of arms of the Air Force is depicted. The name 'Aeronautica Militare' and the years 1923 - 2023 are also shown. The coin is packaged in a printed coin holder.
